These pages are designed and maintained to help in the instruction of "Guitar Playing." The styles and techniquies covered will be of a wide range, and at varrying skill levels. The topics and techniques covered are the result of learning the instrument over a 40 year period. I will gladly share my knowledge of the instrument, playing of, maintaining of and general guidlines on purchasing an instrument that is right for you. This page will not contain "copywritten" material, but rather, instruct the student on how to employ the demonstrated techniques in an intuitive manner to apply to varrying styles of music. Guitar playing should always be fun, challenging and ongoing in the building of knowledge and experience.

A Little About Myself.
My name is Ed Dana. I live in North East Ohio, on the shoreline of Lake Erie. I am 50 years old and have been playing guitar since the age of 8 or 9. For the most part I am self taught. However, in later years I have found that studying Music Theory, as pertaining to the guitar to be the most satisfying. But, for the purposes of learning here... we will approach it on a more "intuitive" level. This means a few different things. The first is "developing the ear." Learning how to recognise patterns and styles used in popular music. The next task will be to apply a mathematical approach to patterns and scales of the guitar neck. This is for those who don't read traditional music notation. However, music notation and music tabulature will be used. I hope that you will find useful information from these pages.
How To Use The Websight.
This websight instruction section is "video" driven. The videos will be relatively short(up to 10 minutes) and concise. The videos will be updated regularly and there will be a video archive made availabe. Simply "click" on the video topic you want and you're on your way to playing guitar!
